For the month of November the Reality Wellness Group focused our attention on nutrition and diet. We provided clients with a nice little newsletter about “mindful eating”. It’s a great concept that makes the overall eating experience more pleasurable, but is also great for your waistline as it helps you to listen to your body’s cues by chewing more slowly, savouring the taste and stopping when full.
It’s the concept of mindfulness that really stood out for me. Mindfulness is defined as a state of being aware or conscious of something. I think it’s a great principle that we should be practicing in general – not just when it comes to eating.
Imagine if we were really tuned in to ourselves – how much more mindful would we be of the impact we have on our children, our friends and family, colleagues and strangers?
We’re fast approaching the end of 2017. It’s all systems go – deadlines to meet, projects to close. The next couple of weeks are inevitably going to be stressful as we wind to a close. Let’s be mindful of the pressure those around us are facing, and be extra mindful of how we project our own stress onto those closest to us.
Remember you can’t retract unkind words, and you’d be surprised how lasting their impact can be on the people who hear them.
Mindfully Yours,
Charmaine
